The Kingdom of Bahrain has issued a strong condemnation of Iran's hostile drone attack on the United Arab Emirates, describing the Monday incident as a flagrant violation of UAE sovereignty and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability.
In an official statement, Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized the attack as a breach of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026). The Kingdom also said the action violated principles of good-neighbourliness between states.
Bahrain expresses solidarity with UAE
Bahrain declared its full solidarity with the UAE and expressed complete support for all measures the country undertakes to protect its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as to safeguard the safety of its citizens and residents.
Call for international action
The Ministry called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities by taking urgent and decisive action to compel Iran to comply with international law and the UN Charter. Bahrain urged the international body to force Iran to cease hostile actions that threaten regional security and stability.
The statement also emphasized the need for Iran to respect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and other vital waterways in the region. Bahrain said such compliance would contribute to de-escalating tensions and preserving regional security and stability.
The drone strike represents the latest in a series of incidents raising tensions in the Gulf region, with several countries expressing concern over Iran's actions in recent months.
