Anchorpoint Plans Solana Integration for HKDAP as It Prepares for Retail Access
Standard Chartered-backed Anchorpoint Financial has partnered with the Solana Foundation to explore bringing its Hong Kong dollar stablecoin, HKDAP, to Solana. The proposed integration would allow eligible users to mint and redeem tokens on the network, but the company has not announced a retail launch date.

Retail plans still depend on controlled access
The partnership, announced October 30, is Anchorpoint's first with a public blockchain foundation. It supports the issuer's effort to reach users outside its existing institutional distribution network, with potential applications in consumer payments and settlement for tokenized assets.
For now, HKDAP remains available through authorized distributors and verified wallets. Under Anchorpoint's business-to-business-to-consumer model, approved partners handle customer access, custody and conversion services. Users must pass verification, and the infrastructure restricts transfers to unverified addresses.
On October 26, CEO Dominic Maffei said Anchorpoint was preparing its distribution infrastructure and customer education efforts before opening access to individuals, according to crypto.news. The Asian Banker has reported that retail access could begin from the end of 2026, but no launch date has been confirmed.
What Anchorpoint and Solana will explore
Anchorpoint plans to make native minting and redemption available on Solana, letting eligible participants issue and redeem HKDAP directly through the blockchain. The company expects the network's speed and processing capacity to support frequent transfers, everyday payments and trading or settlement involving tokenized assets and Hong Kong dollar-denominated financial products.
The partners also plan to work with businesses and consumer-facing applications to broaden access to HKDAP and related tokenized products. Solana Foundation APAC head Lu Yin said applications consumers already use could help make digital Hong Kong dollars more accessible. He pointed to Solana's settlement capabilities and its international community of developers and wallet providers.
The collaboration also extends to Anchorpoint's Tokenised Money Adoption Programme. According to crypto.news, the Solana Foundation will become a strategic partner in the initiative, which professional services firm PwC had already joined.
An existing network for assets and payments
The announcement cited about $4.9 billion in tokenized real-world assets on Solana and more than 835,000 holders of those assets. RWA.xyz reported somewhat higher figures as of October 30, 2026: approximately $5.18 billion in distributed real-world-asset value and 851,169 holders.
Solana is also involved in a planned expansion of consumer stablecoin transfers. Earlier in October, Samsung Wallet announced plans to offer USDC transfers to eligible users across 82 million Galaxy devices in the United States, using infrastructure from Solana and Sui. The proposed service would support transfers to compatible cryptocurrency wallets and eligible overseas bank accounts.
HKDAP's licensing and institutional rollout
Anchorpoint describes itself as a joint venture established by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong), telecommunications company HKT and Animoca Brands.
Hong Kong's Stablecoins Ordinance took effect on August 1, 2025. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority issued its first two stablecoin issuer licenses on April 10, 2026, to Anchorpoint and HSBC, according to The Asian Banker. Both issuers are bank-led. Anchorpoint holds license FRS01.
HKDAP's limited rollout began on August 12, 2026, serving eligible institutions and professional investors through authorized distributors. Its initial purposes included payments, conversion between fiat money and digital tokens, and settlement of tokenized financial assets.
HashKey and OSL provided the first beta distribution channels in August, and five distributors were offering live beta access by the month's end. During the initial rollout, HashKey Exchange carried out a minting and redemption transaction.
Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) joined as HKDAP's first bank distributor on August 24. The bank was exploring uses in institutional treasury, cross-border payments and tokenized fund settlement, The Asian Banker reported. Subscriptions and settlement for tokenized money market funds were planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
HSBC has begun its consumer rollout
Hong Kong's other licensed issuer has already started introducing a stablecoin to consumers. On October 23, 2026, HSBC began rolling out its Hong Kong dollar-backed RedCoin through PayMe, a consumer payment app serving more than 3.3 million users, according to crypto.news. The initial uses are transfers between individuals and payments to participating merchants.
