Reliance Digital has announced the availability of Samsung's latest foldable smartphone lineup in India, including the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. The devices were officially unveiled on July 22, 2026, at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event in London, England, alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 series and Galaxy Glasses.
The launch marks a significant milestone for Samsung's foldable range, with the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra representing the first time the company has applied its 'Ultra' branding to a foldable device. The designation signifies Samsung's highest level of performance within the Galaxy Z series.
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra leads premium segment
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra features an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display and houses a 200MP camera system. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, which delivers 20% better CPU performance and 35% improved power efficiency compared to its predecessor, the device includes a 5,000mAh battery. At just 4.1 millimeters thick when unfolded and weighing 215 grams, Samsung describes it as the thinnest Galaxy Z Fold yet. The premium foldable is available in Graphite, Cream and Violet Shadow colour options.
Galaxy Z Fold8 enhances multitasking capabilities
The Galaxy Z Fold8 features a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with a wider cover screen and Galaxy AI-powered multitasking tools. The device comes in Lavender, Graphite and Cream colour variants, offering a compact foldable design with flagship-level performance.
Galaxy Z Flip8 combines style with functionality
Designed as a pocket-friendly foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip8 includes a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, an upgraded FlexWindow, and a 50MP camera system with Galaxy AI features. Samsung positions the device to combine fashion-focused design with productivity and entertainment capabilities.
Both the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 are the first Samsung phones to come pre-installed with Android 17, with the company promising up to 7 years of major software upgrades.
Wide distribution across India
The new foldable devices are available across Reliance Digital's network of over 8,700 Reliance Digital and Jio stores throughout India, making it accessible through the country's largest consumer electronics retail chain. Customers can experience the devices in-store, compare models, explore launch offers and receive assistance from retail experts. The Galaxy Z Fold8 series and Galaxy Z Flip8 are also available through Reliance Digital's online platform.
The devices will be released on August 7, 2026, with pre-orders having opened on July 22, 2026.
