Jordan's air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 18 of 20 ballistic missiles fired from Iranian territory in an overnight attack, the Jordan Armed Forces announced through the Petra News Agency.

The spokesperson for the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army confirmed that Jordanian air defense systems engaged the incoming missiles over several hours, with two projectiles falling in unpopulated areas. Field assessments determined no casualties occurred as a result of the attack.

Advanced air defense infrastructure proves effective

The successful interception demonstrates the effectiveness of Jordan's integrated air defense infrastructure, which includes Patriot missile systems, MIM-23 HAWK systems for medium- and long-range defense, and the OMNYX C4I System that provides command and control coordination across the Royal Jordanian Air Force. Iran maintains the largest stockpile of ballistic missiles in the Middle East, with medium-range systems capable of reaching approximately 2,000 kilometers—placing all of Jordan within striking distance from Iranian territory.
