Support throughout the journey

The workers will perform Umrah and visit the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah during the trip. Emarat Al Youm reported on November 3, 2026, that the participants are affiliated with several institutions and government departments.

Supervisors will travel with the group for the entire journey, explaining the rituals and answering participants' questions. Their role is to help the workers complete the rites smoothly and with peace of mind.

Access for different groups

Workers are among several groups supported by "Facilitating Umrah." The initiative also assists cancer patients, outstanding students at Al Qasimia University and underprivileged families. Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem, executive director of Sharjah Charity International, said it was intended to serve people from varied backgrounds, not a single group.

The charity has helped 5,061 people perform Umrah over the past decade through its campaigns. It described that record as part of its continuing effort to expand the initiative and reach additional beneficiaries.

A separate program, "Ideal Mothers' Umrah," supports mothers of orphans. According to Sharjah 24, the charity allocated 40 Umrah trips for those mothers during a field visit to Egypt that concluded on September 21, 2026.

Bin Khadem thanked philanthropists and donors for supporting the charity's projects throughout the year. He credited their contributions with helping sustain its humanitarian activities and bring happiness to the people it serves.

The charity's wider operations

Beyond its Umrah programs, Sharjah Charity International reported completing more than 12,700 charitable and development projects during the first three quarters of 2025. Gulf News reported on November 6, 2025, that the projects cost Dh200.1 million in total and reached around 1.3 million people across various countries.

In a separate Gulf News report published February 16, 2026, bin Khadem said around 28 million people had benefited from the association's projects between 2014 and 2025.
