Blue Yonder launches AI-native order management platform for B2C and B2B

Blue Yonder launched its AI-native Order Management Solution on November 5, 2026, bringing delivery promises, fulfillment, customer service and returns into one platform for retailers and distributors. The company says the product is designed to protect sales and reduce fulfillment costs as business conditions change.

Connecting inventory with customer commitments

The launch is part of Release 2026.3, a broader update that adds capabilities for connected planning and execution and coordination among trading partners. Within Blue Yonder's Cognitive Solutions portfolio, Cognitive Order Management supports both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) operations.

Blue Yonder describes a problem the platform is intended to address: commerce, planning and execution systems do not always coordinate orders in real time. Customers may be shown products that are not readily available, leading to canceled orders, lost sales and broken delivery promises.

The solution links inventory on hand, in transit and on order to the item and customer order throughout allocation, sourcing, delivery promising, service and returns. Its real-time availability view covers stores, distribution centers, suppliers, incoming shipments and eligible returned goods.

Gurdip Singh, Blue Yonder's chief product officer, said keeping an order promise involves planning, inventory, fulfillment, transportation, service and returns. "By bringing the right context and action to each operator, we reduce the lag between insight and execution and give them the context to act with speed and precision," he said.

Identifying risks and acting on exceptions

When supply, demand or capacity shifts, the system identifies affected orders and suggests responses. Its Fulfillment and Customer Service Agents bring relevant information into a single view, explaining the risks to an order and the trade-offs among available options. Employees can act within business-defined permissions and guardrails rather than search across separate applications.

The persona-driven console offers more than 100 contextual cards combining key performance indicators, exception signals and AI-assisted actions. Blue Yonder says teams can deploy cards tailored to their business in days without technical work. Shared information across the order lifecycle is intended to help teams agree on a response before a problem spreads to additional orders or customers.

For disruptions affecting many orders, the Intelligent Rebalancer can reallocate supply and revise order promises at scale to help preserve customer commitments.

Shared inventory and B2B capabilities

Companies can share an inventory pool while applying separate rules to individual accounts, channels and contracts. As conditions change, they can redistribute supply according to customer and channel priorities.

B2B orders run natively alongside B2C orders on the platform. The new B2B features cover validated bulk uploads from Excel, supply hierarchy rules, management of supplier purchase orders and bulk processing of return merchandise authorizations (RMAs). Blue Yonder also plans further investment in advanced B2B order management to support complex orders.

Returns routing and resale

The solution's Smart Disposition feature uses business rules and profitability considerations to determine what happens to each returned item. Options include resale, repair, return to the vendor or another route, with eligible inventory made available for sale sooner.

Release 2026.3 also brings Online Returns and Warehouse Returns natively onto the Blue Yonder Platform. Expanded integration with third-party drop-off networks accompanies more detailed routing and policy controls, allowing retailers to manage brand-specific returns through stores, home pickup and multi-brand flows.

Modular deployment and existing use

The cloud-native solution is sold as a single SKU with modular add-ons. Customers can retain surrounding systems, begin with core order management and later add services such as store fulfillment or online returns.

Blue Yonder reports that its Order Management processed 7 million order reservations and supported more than 133 million estimated delivery date calculations on Black Friday in 2025. It has also identified Walgreens as a customer using its AI-based Order Management to power a 30-minute customer order promise.

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Blue Yonder is led by CEO Duncan Angove and employs about 8,200 people. The company says it serves more than 3,000 retailers, manufacturers and logistics service providers.
