Indian cricket star Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma travelled to Vrindavan to seek blessings from spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj at the Radha Keli Kunj Ashram, continuing their tradition of spiritual pilgrimages.

Indian cricket star Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma made a spiritual pilgrimage to Vrindavan on Wednesday, visiting the Radha Keli Kunj Ashram to seek blessings from revered spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj.
The couple was spotted walking barefoot to the ashram, located on Vrindavan Parikrama Marg near Varaha Ghat. Videos of their visit quickly circulated on social media, showing them arriving amid tight security while wearing face masks to maintain a low profile.
Anushka wore a simple white salwar suit, while Virat opted for casual attire consisting of a shirt and trousers. Accompanied by members of their team, they made their way through the ashram premises before receiving blessings from Premanand Maharaj, a Rasik Saint following the Radhavallabh and Hit Parampara tradition.
Vrindavan, situated in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh on the west bank of the Yamuna River, holds profound spiritual significance as one of the most sacred places in the Vaishnavism tradition. The town, located approximately 15 kilometers north of Mathura where Krishna was born, is home to about 5,500 temples dedicated to the worship of Krishna and his divine consort Radha.
Following championship success
The visit comes after a remarkable period for Kohli and his team. Royal Challengers Bengaluru created history earlier this year by winning the IPL 2026 title, becoming only the third team in IPL history to successfully defend the championship. The franchise joined an elite group that includes Chennai Super Kings (2010-2011) and Mumbai Indians (2019-2020).
In the final played on May 31, 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, RCB defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets after restricting them to 155/8. Kohli delivered a match-winning performance, scoring 75 runs off 42 balls and earning the Player of the Match award.
The back-to-back championships hold special significance for RCB, who won their maiden IPL title in 2025 after 18 years, defeating Punjab Kings in the final. Kohli, the all-time leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League with over 9,300 runs for RCB across 19 seasons since his debut in 2008, has been instrumental in the team's recent success.

Kohli and Sharma have long been known for their deep spiritual beliefs and regularly visit religious destinations during breaks from their professional commitments. The couple has made several trips to Vrindavan over the years, with their previous visit also taking them to the Radha Keli Kunj Ashram to seek Premanand Maharaj's blessings.
The spiritual journey takes on added significance following Kohli's announcement in May 2025 of his retirement from Test cricket, ending a distinguished 14-year career during which he accumulated 9,230 runs in 123 matches, including 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries.
Throughout their relationship, the couple has balanced their high-profile careers with a commitment to spiritual growth, making these pilgrimages a regular feature of their lives together.
