Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan has taken a lighthearted approach to a viral AI-generated dance video featuring a digital version of himself, joking that the AI rendition showed better moves than Malayalam cinema legend Mohanlal and his counterpart in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Vijay.

Speaking on Saturday at a seminar jointly organised by the Kerala Judicial Academy and the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Satheesan addressed the clip that has taken social media by storm. "I saw the video and found that I was dancing better than Mohanlal and my friend, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. I was stunned," he remarked.

The Viral Video

The AI-generated clip, which surfaced on Instagram, shows a digitally created Satheesan dancing alongside employees of the Kerala State Electricity Board to 'Ala Bolelo', a song composed by Anirudh Ravichander for the upcoming film Jailer 2, scheduled for theatrical release on October 15, 2026. The video was created by an Instagram page known for producing AI-generated entertainment content.

The clip gained explosive traction online, reportedly crossing 10 million views within hours of being posted. The creators included a disclaimer clarifying that the video was made purely for entertainment purposes and was not intended to insult or defame anyone.

Political Background

Satheesan, who became Kerala's 13th Chief Minister in May 2026 after the United Democratic Front secured 102 of 140 seats in the state assembly elections, has been a prominent political figure in Kerala for over two decades. A lawyer by profession, he has represented the Paravur constituency in Ernakulam district continuously since 2001, serving six consecutive terms as MLA.
