Preidlhof offers a five-night Alpine spa getaway with Porsche rental
Guests at Dolce Vita Hotel Preidlhof in South Tyrol, Italy, can combine a wellness stay with drives in a Porsche 718 Boxster convertible. OffTheGrid Travel's five-night package starts at €5,995 (around $7,000) for two adults, with daily car rental included.

The package and rental terms
The starting price covers two adults sharing a "Wellness Suite Me" at the adults-only resort. Along with the car rental, the OffTheGrid Travel booking includes three-quarter board, access to the spa and gym, and the weekly activity program. Each guest also receives a complimentary 20-minute massage; early check-in is available subject to availability.
The resort belongs to the Dolce Vita Hotels consortium, which has two Porsche 718 Boxster convertibles for guest rental. Drivers must be 25 or older and have at least five years of driving experience. Use is limited to 9 a.m. through 7 p.m., and the vehicles must come back to the hotel every evening for inspection.
Insurance has a €2,000 deductible. In cases of major damage, guests may also be liable for 15 percent of repair costs, depending on the applicable insurance terms.
A package booking is not the only way to rent a Porsche. Preidlhof's website lists a separate daily rate of €149 for guests staying at any of the five Dolce Vita Hotels. It also lists other vehicles available at Preidlhof: a trike at €79 a day, a Vespa at €23 a day and an off-road DolceVita quad at €29 a day.
Mountain passes and lakeside routes
Preidlhof overlooks the medieval village of Naturns in one of the Dolomites' sunniest valleys. South Tyrol's mild, Mediterranean-like microclimate, vineyards and orchards provide a setting for open-top driving from spring through fall.
About an hour west of the hotel, the Stelvio Pass offers the hairpin bends that make it a draw for driving enthusiasts. Other routes include the Jaufen Pass and the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road, which takes drivers across the border into Austria.
For a quieter excursion, guests can head to Lake Resia, where a partially submerged bell tower stands above the water.
Pools, saunas and thermal water
Back at the resort, guests have access to the award-winning Preidl MedSpa, a six-story sauna tower offering 16 sauna experiences, and 14 pools, among them the rooftop Sky Infinity Pool. Suite features include outdoor daybeds, private spa loggias and mountain views.
Wellness Royal puts the spa's total area at 5,500 m². Its facilities include indoor pools, outdoor pools and whirlpools kept at 30–36 °C, a 500 m² infinity rooftop spa, a -10 °C snow room and a 90 °C Sunset Sauna. The publication says the resort's own Bad Kochenmoos thermal spring supplies the spa with healing water drawn from a depth of 200 m.
According to Wellness Royal, the spa received the "Best Hotel SPA in Europe" title at the 2024 European Health & Spa Awards. Hotel Tech Index also reports the property's claim that it was Europe's first wellness spa certified to ISO 17679:2016.
Dining and the resort's development
Dinner is a nightly seven-course meal that uses herbs, honey and fruit from the estate. The resort holds three Gault Millau toques and has both a private rock-cellar winery and a distillery.
Preidlhof's website identifies it as a founding member of the five-hotel Dolce Vita Hotels consortium. Its "book one hotel, enjoy five" arrangement extends the three-quarter-board package beyond the property: guests receive free access to spas, fitness facilities, the cultural program and six gourmet restaurants across the member hotels.
Hotel Tech Index describes Preidlhof as a five-star resort owned and operated by the Ladurner family. It welcomes guests ages 16 and up and has 71 rooms and suites for roughly 140 guests, at an elevation of 572 m in Naturns, also known as Naturno.
The property began in 1966 as Pension Ladurner, a nine-room guesthouse, according to Hotel Tech Index. Its expansion has taken place over decades: the Sauna Tower opened in 2013, followed in 2017 by the Dolce Vita Lodge and infinity sports pool. That €6 million refurbishment added 36 luxury suites and five penthouse suites. The Infinity Rooftop Spa followed in 2023.
Travel costs and arrival options
The package price excludes flights, transfers, drinks, spa treatments and other extras, apart from the specified complimentary massage.
For arrivals by air, Innsbruck is about 90 minutes from the resort and Verona is approximately two hours away. Bolzano train station is around 40 minutes away. Transfers are available but cost extra.
