Singapore Airlines Extends Dubai Cancellations Until February 28, 2027

Singapore Airlines will keep its Singapore-Dubai flights suspended until February 28, 2027, extending a disruption that began in February 2026. The airline cited the geopolitical situation in the Middle East and said affected passengers can seek refunds for unused portions of their tickets.

Affected flights and passenger options

The extension covers both directions of the route: SQ494 from Singapore to Dubai and SQ495 from Dubai to Singapore. Singapore Airlines apologized to affected customers and confirmed that the unused portion of their tickets is eligible for a full refund.

The airline urged passengers to consult its Flight Status page before traveling and cautioned that disruptions may extend beyond Dubai. "As the situation remains fluid, other SIA flights may be affected," it said.

Repeated extensions to a formerly daily service

Singapore Airlines flew between Singapore and Dubai daily before the suspension, according to The Straits Times. AeroCorner reported that the route stopped operating on February 28, 2026, when military strikes led to airspace closures across the Middle East. If the latest suspension date holds, the service will have been absent from the airline's network for a full year.

The new date falls 89 days after December 1, 2026, the date Singapore Airlines had set on October 1, 2026. AeroCorner, citing Mainly Miles, described it as the seventh restart date set since the suspension began.

The Straits Times reported that the flight disruptions followed US and Israeli strikes on Iran in February 2026 and that the conflict showed no sign of ending. It also reported an escalation in regional tensions after the Iran-allied Houthis struck sites in Saudi Arabia, including airports and oil facilities.

As of October 1, 2026, Emirates was the only airline operating nonstop flights between Singapore and Dubai, offering four flights a day, according to AeroCorner's account of reporting by Mainly Miles.

Riyadh launch delayed, Scoot's Jeddah flights still suspended

Singapore Airlines has also moved the planned launch of its nonstop Riyadh service to March 28, 2027, according to Gulf News and AeroCorner. Flights SQ498 and SQ499 are scheduled to operate three times a week.

Disruption at Riyadh's airport has been extensive: about 86% of scheduled departures from October 8 through October 25, 2026, were canceled or recorded as no-fly, according to Cirium data cited by Gulf News and reported by AeroCorner.

At Singapore Airlines' low-cost arm Scoot, the cancellation notice for Singapore-Jeddah flights TR796 and TR797 still ran until December 2, 2026, as of October 30, AeroCorner reported. That notice had last been updated on September 30, 2026.

Other airlines' Dubai schedules

Airlines have set differing timelines for Dubai services, according to AeroCorner. Cathay Pacific's suspension runs until January 31, 2027, while Lufthansa Group plans to resume its first Dubai flights on November 25, 2026. KLM's cancellations extend through March 27, 2027.
